The Society of Risk Management Consultants (SRMC) is an international organization of professionals engaged in risk management, insurance and employee benefits consulting. Its mission is to advance these professions to benefit the member consultants, their clients and the public through research, education, exchange of information through conferences, networking, and the promotion of professional and ethical guidelines.
SRMC was founded in 1984, a merger of The Institute of Risk Management Consultants and the Insurance Consultants Society, two former consulting organizations dating back to the early 1960s.Today, the organization is led by its Officers and Directors who, working with SRMC’s various Committees and volunteers, ensure that SRMC continues to benefit its members and their clients.
Members’ clients range from mid-size privately held companies to Fortune 100 public companies and include non-profits, governmental entities and organizations who require risk and insurance related expertise (Clients Served).
Members are independent consultants who help their clients manage risk in a cost-effective manner.

- SRMC member consultants do not sell insurance.
Members adhere to a strict code of ethics, which requires fee-only compensation and precludes affiliation with an insurance company, agency or brokerage firm.
